Faith Ako is the embodiment of aloha, the spirit of Hawaii given voice. If she reaches a wide enough audience (and she certainly should) that she is given a nickname by the music press--there is a long tradition of such monikers, from Ol' Blue Eyes, the King and the Fab Four to the Belfast Cowboy and countless others--I'd like to suggest The Aloha Angel. Whenever I see Faith perform, listen to one of her albums or even think of her, I feel as if I have been visited by an ethereal being from another realm. Her voice is as delicate as a trade wind, as warm as the Hawaii sun, as sweet as a plumeria blossom. Yet there is something else, too, a robust, feisty quality that lies right beneath her island songs and emerges fully when she rips into a rousing gospel tune, as she sometimes does to close a live show. Whether Faith is singing a traditional Hawaiian song, an original composition or a popular pop song, her warmth transforms the song into her own and envelopes her entire audience in her vast embrace. www.micheleannajordan.com

Hi Faith, We were at your concert last night and really enjoyed listening to you. I actually got choked up last night watching you. You must be so proud of yourself and your family. Felila is such a beautiful girl, and man she can move! The rest of your family sat an arms length away, smiling the entire performance. You can tell they are proud of you too. Your voice is beautiful and you looked very pretty last night. As I watched you on stage, I keep expecting to hear you say your famous Rancho yell, "You gotta hit someone!" Faith, you are amazing and I'm so glad you're following your dream! Keep making your beautiful music!
Renee Gillespie, Cotati, CA, February 22, 2009

So, I'm thrilled that the warm beauty of Faith Ako's music will fill the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts on February 21.

I was watching the New Year's Eve celebration on TV with Anderson Cooper of CNN in Times Square NYC. Your version of "Somewhere over the rainbow" came on and I heard Anderson say it was his favorite version of the song. As I listened to it I was also very attracted to the unusual and new rhythm for the song. I immediately went on line trying to find out who could have sung this version as Anderson did not say who the artist was. After a lot of searching online I found out it was you by listening to a variety of 20-40 second clips. I just ordered you CD Ku Kai so I can finally hear the full version. Happy New Year to you and I can't wait to get the CD.
Regards, Scott Hammar of Washington DC, January, 2009

Can't wait to buy the new album and listen to your lovely voice. Keep up the much Aloha you promote in your music and our group loves your Taapeape Papa and hope you sing more of your Samoan music.
Mahalo, Joe and Annette Ho of Port Orchard, Washington, January, 2009

I wish I could go there and deliver my congratulations to you directly, but my schedule does not allow me to do so. Your picture is beautiful and elegant. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing you in Japan.
Sincerely yours, Natsuyo of Tokyo, Japan, January, 2009

Hi Faith, just listening to you on Aloha Joe, gosh it is so good to hear you. There was a lot of good reasons for us all to come to Hawaii and YOU were part of that good reason.  Loved seeing you and your darling daughter dance.  Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter, and really my daughters I never let go and they are probably much older than yours and yes it is a terrible empty feeling to let family go SO NEVER DO IT maybe without them knowing though::)).  My daughter here in Calgary gets so angry with me for being a hanger on Mom,:::))) not gonna stop though NEVER. Take good care. Love,

Aloha! Your interview with Faith Ako was great! Thanks so much for getting her on the radio.  Her warmth and charm really came thru on your interview.  She is such a nice lady.  I have known her for a little over a year now, mainly as a groupie, but I watch her website and find where she is playing.  As a matter of fact, she is playing at a little golf park in Sonoma this Friday, and I am planning to go.  Last time we saw her, she had at least 15 other crazy people who came to listen too.  She has a fun group of friends, which tells a lot about a person. Anyway, mahalo for having her on the air, Aloha Joe!! 9 more days before I leave for the Big Island!!! Malama Pono!

"On Sunday May 20, Na Mele Nei Concert welcomed Island girl Faith Ako to our humble stage at the Ward Warehouse Amphitheatre. Our audience was treated to an afternoon delight of Hawaiian music straight from the heart of Faith. I think I speak for all of our Na Mele Nei audience, who enjoyed Faith's performance, that we wish we could have Faith home in the Islands full time!!! Native Books Na Mea Hawaii, sponsors of Na Mele Nei Concerts, has proudly included Faith's debut CD "Ku Kahi" in our store inventory. We look forward to having Faith grace our stage anytime she comes home to O'ahu. With aloha,"

"Aloha Faith - I just had to tell you what a pleasure it was to finally meet you and your daughter! The way you sang so beautifully and the way she danced hula to your song ; the two of you just compliments each other beautifully! Looking forward to seeing you on Radio Tiny on K108 and OC16 again real soon!
Valerie Tamura, Producer, Radio Tiny, April, 2007

"Faith embodies the true meaning of what the the aloha spirit stands for.Ku Kahi which means “Standing alone” is a true reflection of Faith Thompson Ako, a strong, beautiful woman in love with life and sharing this love through her music. Born and raised on Kaua’i , “Kauai Medley” and “Koke’e” holds a special place in my heart. Hawaiian music reflects an experience or a feeling that comes from the soul, Faith definitely reflects this in her recent CD, and in everyday life."
Kurt Osaki, Partner, Hukilau, March, 2007

Faith Ako had her first performance at the Mystic Theatre on March 16th, and the entire evening was a beautiful success. The experience started before you even stepped foot in the door with mood setting live music being played on the patio, you felt like you stepped straight off the streets of downtown Petaluma into an authentic Hawaiian Luau. As you walked into the lobby you could not help but take in the sweet smells of the Tuberose, coming off the fresh leis flown in from Hawaii. The entire evening was filled with great music from the lovely Faith herself backed up by an awesome varitey of Hula dancers and costumes, and great Hawaiian snacks as well. Not to mention that the entire Hawaiian community came out to support Faith and her show, you couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. I cannot wait for their next stop through, (and a few more of those pork won-tons, hehe)!
Shennon O'Donnell, Mystic Theatre, March, 2007

"When I'm asked what makes a good live performance I typically answer with the one word that summerizes the evening best, "honesty". It's that quality and believablility of the artist that truely connects and entertains the audience. Faiths show with us earlier this year exemplified that quality of performance and drew a sold out crowd to the Mystic for what would be not only a quality show but a bay area community event! Honestly, I am eagerly awaiting her next show with us this summer!"
Randy Teaford, Mystic Theatre Production Manager & Chief Engineer, March, 2007
