The performance at the Mystic Theatre played to a sold out enthusiastic audience. Here's what Shennon O'Donnell of the Mystic had to say:
Faith Ako had her first performance at the Mystic Theatre on March 16th, and the entire evening was a beautiful success. The experience started before you even stepped foot in the door with mood setting live music being played on the patio, you felt like you stepped straight off the streets of downtown Petaluma into an authentic Hawaiian Luau. As you walked into the lobby you could not help but take in the sweet smells of the Tuba Rose, coming off the fresh leis flown in from Hawaii. The entire evening was filled with great music from the lovely Faith herself backed up by an awesome varitey of Hula dancers and costumes, and great Hawaiian snacks as well. Not to mention that the entire Hawaiian community came out to support Faith and her show, you couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. I cannot wait for their next stop through, (and a few more of those pork won-tons, hehe)!
Faith's daughter, the lovely Felila Ako, performs Taapeape Papa, a traditional Samoan love song from the Ku Kahi album.
If you missed Faith's debut performance at the Hukilau - San Francisco, you'll be happy to know that she's doing hana hou performances at the Hukilau restaurants in San Jose and Palo Alto. Click here for the schedule.
